PIN Unlock Coming To Chrome OS

Following the release of Android Apps On Chromebooks couple months ago, Google has revealed the latest update coming to its computer operating system, offering users on the Chrome OS Developer Channel the ability to unlock their Chromebooks using a PIN.

To enable PIN Unlock, which is still in experimental stages, on Chromebook all you have to do is:

  • Enable the flag chrome://flags/#quick-unlock-pin
  • Restart Chrome
  • Head to Chrome Material Design settings page
  • Set up your Lock Screen PIN in the new "Screen Lock" section
  • Lock your screen using "🔍 + L"
  • Done !!
That's it you can now enjoy the new unlock experience on your Chromebook running the Chrome OS Developer Channel. Last but not least, the quick unlock feature is expected to roll out to the public soon.
